As a Security Professional - Access Control Retail in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and fostering a welcoming atmosphere in a vibrant retail location. Your responsibilities include monitoring entrances and exits, conducting routine patrols, and providing outstanding customer service to all visitors and staff. By remaining visible and approachable, you contribute to a secure environment while upholding Allied Universal's values of agility, reliability, and teamwork. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license is required.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including access control for authorized personnel and visitors.
  • Assist with access control by verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit points at the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential concerns.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, irregularities, or suspicious activities to Allied Universal management and/or site management as required.
  • Support emergency response activities when appropriate, including assisting with evacuations or other site-specific emergency protocols.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter theft, misconduct, and/or other unwanted behaviors within the retail environment.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to customers, staff, and visitors, addressing questions and/or concerns in a courteous manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR or first aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
