Job Description


As a Security Professional – Armed Transit Center Patrol in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a government location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents and promote a secure environment. Your presence and attention to detail will help to maintain order while you interact with the public and respond to incidents as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate de-escalation techniques as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location, including both indoor and outdoor areas, to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other critical areas to help to deter unauthorized access and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
  • Interact professionally with staff, visitors, and members of the public, providing assistance and guidance as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of activities, incidents, and observations throughout each shift.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as required during incidents or emergencies.
  • Remain alert and aware of any changes in the environment or potential security-related threats, adapting responses as necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
