Job Description


As a Security Professional – Hospital Unarmed Patrol in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer in a healthcare location, where your primary responsibilities will include monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents. You will remain visible throughout your shift, provide exceptional customer service to staff and visitors, and utilize your communication skills to address any concerns. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies within a healthcare environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for healthcare locations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter potential disruptions and promote a secure environment for healthcare operations.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as needed, including guiding individuals to designated areas and supporting evacuation procedures.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and irregularities according to site-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff and Allied Universal team members to address security-related concerns and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
