Job Description


As a Security Professional - Armed Patrol Specialist in Newport News, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents at a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location. Your responsibilities include conducting regular patrols, maintaining a strong visible presence, and responding to incidents as needed. You will interact with employees and visitors, providing outstanding customer service and communication while upholding our values of agility, reliability, and integrity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter, both inside and outside the industrial location.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry or suspicious activity within the premises.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of activities, observations, and incidents as required by Allied Universal and client policy.
  • Support emergency response protocols, including reporting hazards or unusual circumstances encountered during patrols.
  • Interact with employees, visitors, and contractors to provide assistance and information as needed, while upholding security-related standards.
  • Carry and operate assigned security-related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and client guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
