Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Irvine, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols and interact with the public, delivering exceptional customer service while supporting access control and badge procedures. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials of individuals entering restricted areas.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activities or security-related concerns to appropriate Allied Universal personnel and/or client representatives.
  • Support emergency response protocols, including assisting with evacuations or lockdowns as required by site-specific procedures.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs of all patrols, incidents, and observations during assigned shifts.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders when required by site protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
  • Have at least 5 years of security-related experience.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A Guard Card or License is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
