Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol in West Palm Beach, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in monitoring and patrolling government locations to help deter security-related incidents and provide a visible presence. This position is both armed and driving, requiring you to conduct routine patrols and respond to situations as needed. You will interact with the public, deliver excellent customer service, and represent Allied Universal's values of integrity, teamwork, and reliability, all while helping to create a secure environment for those you serve.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the government location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and assist visitors and/or employees as needed.
  • Remain alert to unusual activities or conditions and report findings according to site protocols.
  • Work closely with local law enforcement and emergency personnel when required.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of patrols, incidents, and observations as directed by Allied Universal and site management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A minimum of three years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or a college degree is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
