Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Control Monitor in Topeka, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas within a dynamic food and beverage production location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and providing outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Perform access control duties by verifying credentials of individuals entering and exiting the location, helping to maintain authorized entry.
  • Observe and report any security-related incidents or suspicious activity in and around the premises.
  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by communicating site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter trespassing and/or unauthorized access.
  • Document and maintain records of all access control activities, incidents, and observations as required by Allied Universal and the client site.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and Allied Universal management to address security-related concerns specific to the food and beverage production environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
