Job Description


As a Security Officer - Full-Time Patrol Driver in Edison, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in a dynamic retail and mall environment, you will actively monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Your visible presence and commitment to exceptional customer service will play a key role in supporting a positive experience for all visitors. This is a driving position, requiring you to meet Allied Universal driver policy standards while embodying our values of agility, reliability, and integrity as you work alongside a team that puts people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, as well as responding appropriately to emergencies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing assistance as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including both interior and perimeter areas, to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and public areas to observe for suspicious behavior or unauthorized access.
  • Report and document all incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal protocols and client requirements.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter disruptive behavior and provide reassurance to patrons and staff.
  • Assist with crowd management and provide directions or information to guests as needed within the retail or entertainment environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
