Job Description


As a Security Officer - Hospital Grounds Patrol in North Haven, CT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help maintain a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors. Your visible presence helps to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or potential disturbances.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, such as property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized individuals, or unusual occurrences within the healthcare environment.
  • Work closely with staff, visitors, and patients to support a secure and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Complete detailed reports on all incidents, observations, and activities during the shift as required by Allied Universal and site management.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points, and verifying the credentials of individuals entering restricted areas.
  • Follow all instructions from Allied Universal leadership and the healthcare site management regarding security-related procedures and protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
