As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol Government Enforcement in Alexandria, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, maintaining a secure environment for all individuals. Pay Rate: $19.57 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and maintain a visible presence.
  • Monitor and control access to restricted areas, verifying identification and authorization according to site protocols.
  • Identify and report security-related concerns, hazards, or unusual activity to supervisory personnel and/or law enforcement as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and site personnel to address security-related issues and maintain open lines of communication.
  • Complete detailed and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Participate in regular training sessions and maintain proficiency with post orders, site policies, and the proper use of assigned equipment including firearms.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Being at least 21 years of age is required.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
