Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Government in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer, you will help to deter security-related incidents while conducting routine patrols at a dynamic government location. You will provide a visible presence, respond to incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout designated government locations and surrounding perimeters to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points, maintaining awareness of any security-related concerns.
  • Document security-related incidents and observations, reporting them in accordance with company and client guidelines.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as required during incidents or emergencies.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter potential disruptive or criminal behavior.
  • Operate communication devices and security-related equipment as needed to perform assigned duties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • Pepper spray certification is preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
