Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol in Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned government locations to help create a secure environment for all occupants. By conducting regular patrols and maintaining a visible presence, you will help to deter security-related incidents and provide a reassuring presence. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies and protocols, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the assigned government location and its perimeter, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Carry a firearm and handle it responsibly, adhering to all applicable regulations and Allied Universal policies.
  • Document observations and incidents promptly and accurately, reporting relevant information to supervisors and/or law enforcement as needed.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other designated areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain order.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and Allied Universal team members to support a secure environment at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience.
  • Candidates must have at least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
