Job Description


As a Security Professional - Armed Patrol Healthcare Facility in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols throughout the facility to help create a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors. Your presence and professionalism help to deter security-related incidents, while your strong communication and customer service skills foster positive interactions within the community. This role is both armed and requires driving responsibilities, making it ideal for individuals who are committed to protecting others and thrive in dynamic, mission-driven settings. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate judgment for healthcare environments.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the healthcare facility and perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas within the location to help control access and observe for unusual or suspicious activity.
  • Communicate with staff, visitors, and patients in a professional manner to address security-related concerns and provide assistance as needed.
  • Report and document incidents, observations, and irregularities according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the assigned location to help deter potential security-related incidents and promote a welcoming environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least one year of experience in armed security, law enforcement, and/or military is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
