As a Security Officer - Access Control - Government in Lakeland, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Security Officer specializing in access control within a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help maintain a secure environment. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents, and you will be responsible for checking credentials and controlling entry points. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at a government location, including assisting visitors and employees with access-related inquiries.
  • Monitor and control entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access and verify that only authorized individuals gain entry to restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for emergencies and unusual occurrences.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and verify that access control measures are functioning as intended.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports of access control activities, incidents, and observations to Allied Universal management as required.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, emergency services, and/or site management when necessary to address access-related concerns or incidents.
  • Remain alert to potential security-related risks and provide a visible presence to help to deter unwanted activity.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
