Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol Driver in Butner, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols in a government setting. This position is both armed and driving, requiring you to remain visible while monitoring assigned areas and responding promptly to any potential concerns. You will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining strong communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter, monitoring for any unusual activity.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other critical areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or prohibited activities.
  • Document observations, incidents, and/or occurrences as required by site protocols.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and/or law enforcement personnel as needed.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter potential disturbances and/or security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
