As a Security Officer - Residential Patrol Driver in Glen Allen, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will conduct regular patrols throughout a residential community, remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents and foster a welcoming environment. This driving position involves monitoring assigned areas, providing outstanding customer service, and communicating with residents and visitors. You will be part of a team that values agility, reliability, and innovation, all while upholding integrity and putting people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and residents by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the residential community.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and promote a secure environment.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activities, hazards, or maintenance concerns encountered during patrols.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs of activities, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences during assigned shifts.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services when appropriate and directed by site protocols.
  • Assist residents, visitors, and staff with directions or information as needed while maintaining a professional and courteous presence.
  • Follow all Allied Universal policies and procedures, as well as site-specific instructions, to support the overall security-related objectives of the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required per client requirements.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
