As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol Driver PT in Bear, DE, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will actively monitor and patrol assigned retail and tech-focused locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming environment for all visitors. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, staying visible to support a positive atmosphere, and delivering exceptional customer service. This is a driving post, requiring you to navigate the property as needed in accordance with our driver policy. What You'll Do:

  • Deliver excellent customer service to clients, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at retail, mall, or technology/media/telecom locations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, such as suspicious behavior, hazards, or security-related breaches, to the appropriate personnel.
  • Provide visible presence to help to deter theft, vandalism, or other unwanted behaviors in retail, mall, or technology/media/telecom environments.
  • Assist with access control by verifying identification and credentials as required by site procedures.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate reports and logs of daily activities, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences.
  • Work collaboratively with client staff and local law enforcement when necessary to handle security-related matters.
  • Stay alert to the unique challenges and needs of retail, mall, and technology/media/telecom locations, adapting responses as necessary to support a secure environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related, armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
