As a Security Officer - Retail Loss Prevention in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will actively monitor and patrol assigned retail and mall locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within the retail location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining clear communication with appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail environment and along the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and support a secure atmosphere.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, maintenance issues, or potential hazards to the appropriate parties.
  • Support access control measures by monitoring entrances, exits, and restricted areas as required by site-specific protocols.
  • Assist customers, visitors, and employees with directions and general inquiries, maintaining a professional presence at all times.
  • Document all incidents, observations, and activities as required by Allied Universal and client protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
