As a Security Professional - Armed Utilities Flex Patrol in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help to deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming environment. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and engage with individuals on site, providing excellent customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the utility facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor for any unusual conditions or activity at the location, reporting findings in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintain visibility to help to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptions within the utility environment.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, and/or contractors as needed while on patrol.
  • Document all incidents, observations, and actions taken during the shift as required by Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Adhere to all Allied Universal and client policies regarding the carrying and use of assigned firearms and related equipment while on duty.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Diploma is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
