Job Description


As a Security Officer - Auto Patrol Driver Specialist in Normal, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Auto, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at an automotive location, where you'll actively monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and create a secure environment for all. Your presence and professionalism will make a positive impact as you conduct routine patrols, interact with site personnel, and assist visitors with excellent customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following company protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify potential concerns.
  • Maintain awareness of the surroundings within the automotive location and report any irregularities or suspicious activity as outlined in site procedures.
  • Document incidents, observations, and activities in a timely and accurate manner according to Allied Universal and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and local authorities as needed to support the security-related needs of the automotive environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
