Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Retail Patrol in Laredo, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a prominent retail location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting regular patrols and maintaining a strong, visible presence. In this dynamic environment, you will interact with the public, support security-related operations, and provide exceptional customer service. This role requires you to be armed and may also require driving responsibilities as part of your patrol duties. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of observations and activities during each shift.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and/or emergency responders as needed in response to incidents at the location.
  • Assist employees, visitors, and customers with security-related concerns and provide directions or information as needed.
  • Adhere to all Allied Universal policies, procedures, and post orders while maintaining a professional presence at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must be able to speak, read, and write fluent Spanish.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Level III armed certification is required for positions located in Texas.
  • The ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
