As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver - Retail/Mall in McAllen, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail locations to help create a secure environment for customers and staff. Your visible presence and routine patrols will help to deter security-related incidents while delivering outstanding customer service and communication. This position requires both armed and driving responsibilities, offering you the opportunity to take an active role in maintaining order and responding to incidents as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by implementing security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support operations at the retail location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the store, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, observing for suspicious behavior or activities that may require intervention.
  • Document security-related incidents, observations, and actions taken during patrols and incident responses.
  • Collaborate with store staff and/or law enforcement as needed to address incidents or assist with emergency response.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter theft, vandalism, and other disturbances within the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • At least six months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Level III armed certification is required for roles in Texas only.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
