As a Security Professional - Government Patrol Badge Experience in Silver Spring, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a government location, you will monitor assigned areas and conduct regular patrols to help to deter security-related incidents. You will remain visible throughout the property, offer exceptional customer service, and maintain clear communication with staff and visitors. Your role is vital in helping to create a secure environment while representing Allied Universal’s values of integrity, teamwork, and caring for others. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Communicate observed security-related concerns and potential risks to the appropriate parties as required.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted activity and provide reassurance to individuals at the location.
  • Document any incidents or unusual occurrences according to Allied Universal policies and procedures.
  • Support access control requirements by observing entry and exit points as assigned.
  • Assist visitors and employees with questions or concerns, providing information as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
