As a Security Officer - Government Patrol Flex in Champaign, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, responding to incidents and emergencies as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order and security-related operations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and monitor for potential security-related concerns.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity, security-related hazards, or unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist visitors and employees by providing information and guidance as required while maintaining a professional presence at the government location.
  • Follow post orders and instructions from Allied Universal management and/or site supervisors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Experience with customer service is preferred.
  • Applicants who are comfortable using a computer or tablet are preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
