Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Control Tech Campus in BOISE, ID, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents and provide outstanding customer service at a dynamic tech and media location. You will monitor access points, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to support a secure environment for staff, visitors, and property. This post requires a valid driver's license in the job state, as you may be responsible for driving duties as part of your role. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain secure premises for technology, media, and telecom locations.
  • Follow site-specific procedures and Allied Universal protocols related to access control and emergency response.
  • Provide professional customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors while maintaining a security-related presence at assigned posts.
  • Respond in a calm, problem-solving manner to incidents and/or critical situations as they arise.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter as required by site instructions, adapting to the unique needs of a technology, media, and telecom environment.
  • Document observations, incidents, and/or activities in accordance with Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and first responders as directed during emergency and/or security-related events.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to work at sites with limited on-site facilities, such as portable toilets or a rustic guard shack, is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
