As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol in Land O Lakes, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while creating a welcoming environment for all visitors and staff. This position requires you to carry a firearm as part of your role. What You'll Do:

  • Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies while providing excellent customer service to clients, staff, and visitors at government locations.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the property and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential incidents.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations with a calm, problem-solving approach, using appropriate emergency response protocols as needed.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials of individuals entering and/or exiting restricted areas.
  • Document observations, incidents, and activities in detailed written reports.
  • Collaborate with local authorities, first responders, and Allied Universal management during emergencies or critical situations as required.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted behavior and provide reassurance to those on site.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • A corrections officer license is required.
  • A law enforcement officer license is required.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
