As a Security Guard - Armed  in Fairfax, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents through routine patrols and a strong, visible presence at a healthcare location. You will be responsible for monitoring assigned areas, responding to security-related situations as needed, and delivering outstanding customer service and communication to all individuals onsite. This is an armed position, requiring you to uphold our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first while working in a challenging and rewarding environment where reliability and innovation are key.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations within the healthcare environment in a calm, problem-solving manner, while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and verify identification of individuals entering restricted areas, as required by site-specific procedures.
  • Assist medical staff and visitors during emergencies by guiding them according to established protocols.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports on incidents, observations, or activities during the shift.
  • Maintain a high level of visibility throughout the location to help to deter potential disruptions or policy violations.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal management and healthcare facility personnel to address security-related matters and provide a consistent presence at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
