As a Security Officer in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing a reassuring presence. This is both an armed and driving post. You will engage with staff, patients, and visitors, offering exceptional customer service and strong communication skills. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing de-escalation techniques as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and maintain a visible Allied Universal presence.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain adherence to facility protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to address security-related concerns and provide assistance when appropriate.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports of observations, incidents, and activities as required by Allied Universal and the client site.
  • Remain alert to changes in the environment and report any security-related hazards or unusual activities to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in directing emergency personnel and responding to alarms and other urgent situations in accordance with established procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • A minimum of six months of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
