Job Description


As a Security Officer - Government Armed Patrol Driver in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed professional at a prominent government location, you will actively monitor and patrol designated areas to help create a secure environment. Your visible presence and regular patrols will help to deter security-related incidents while delivering outstanding customer service and clear communication to everyone you encounter. This role requires carrying a firearm and operating a vehicle as part of your daily responsibilities. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at government locations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or security-related incidents.
  • Monitor and report any suspicious activities or security-related hazards observed during patrols to the proper authorities or management.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed in accordance with site protocols.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate reports regarding daily activities, incidents, and/or irregularities encountered.
  • Follow all Allied Universal and client site-specific policies and procedures, including those related to the handling and use of firearms.
  • Participate in ongoing training and drills to remain prepared for any security-related emergency situations at government facilities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
