As a Security Guard – Flex Media Patrol in Bessemer, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned locations within the fast-paced tech and media environment. Your presence will help to deter potential security-related incidents while delivering outstanding customer service and communication. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible, and interact professionally with employees and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor access points and report any unusual or suspicious activity in accordance with location protocols.
  • Communicate promptly and clearly with Allied Universal management and site contacts regarding incidents, concerns, or emergencies.
  • Document all activities, observations, and incidents as required by Allied Universal and site protocols.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter unauthorized individuals and/or activities.
  • Assist with crowd management and access control as needed, particularly in high-traffic or sensitive areas.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A guard card or security-related license is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
