As a Security Guard - Shelter Patrols Full-Time in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal at a shelter location, you will actively monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and promote a welcoming atmosphere. Your visible presence and attentive communication will play a key role in creating a secure environment for all individuals on site. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, participating in emergency response activities within the shelter environment.
• Respond to incidents and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a composed presence in the shelter.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and around the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and support a secure environment for residents and staff.
• Observe and report any unusual activities, security-related hazards, or conditions to Allied Universal management and shelter leadership as needed.
• Maintain a visible presence on the property to help to deter unauthorized individuals and/or activities.
• Document all security-related incidents, interactions, and daily activities according to Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
• Work collaboratively with shelter staff and residents to promote a welcoming and respectful environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• State, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
