As a Security Professional - Unarmed Shelter Patrol Specialist in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment for all residents and staff. You will interact closely with individuals on site, respond to incidents, and provide clear communication, all while embracing our values of agility, reliability, and teamwork. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as assisting with emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order at the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify any security-related concerns.
  • Monitor the premises for any unusual or suspicious activity and report findings as required by Allied Universal protocols.
  • Interact professionally with residents, staff, and visitors to provide assistance and maintain a welcoming environment.
  • Complete security-related logs, reports, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner as directed by site requirements and Allied Universal procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or first aid certification is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
