Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Control Healthcare in Fredericksburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare location, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and managing access points to help protect patients, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents, and providing exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor access points and verify credentials of individuals entering restricted areas within the healthcare location.
  • Assist in maintaining a secure environment by observing activity and reporting any security-related concerns or suspicious behavior.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptive conduct.
  • Respond to incidents and security-related situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific protocols.
  • Provide customer service by answering questions and offering directions to visitors, patients, and staff as needed.
  • Carry out emergency response activities according to site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
