As a Security Officer - Tech Campus Patrols in Ashland, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a dynamic tech-focused location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help maintain a secure environment. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents, while your approachable attitude will contribute to exceptional customer service and communication. In this role, you'll utilize technology, interact with staff and visitors, and play a key part in fostering a welcoming atmosphere. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by performing security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergencies as needed.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unauthorized activities within the technology and media location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, reporting any irregularities as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business premises and perimeter to observe for any irregular or suspicious activity.
• Interact with employees, visitors, and vendors in a professional manner, providing assistance and information as requested.
• Document incidents and observations clearly and accurately according to Allied Universal protocols.
• Support access control measures by monitoring entrances and exits and/or verifying credentials as instructed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
