As a Security Officer - Shelter Screener Part Time in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Screener at this location, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment for all guests and residents. Your responsibilities include monitoring entry points, conducting routine patrols, and remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents. What You'll Do:

  • Greet visitors and residents at the shelter location, providing a welcoming and professional presence.
  • Conduct screening procedures as required, including checking identification and monitoring entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies as outlined by Allied Universal and the location.
  • Respond promptly and calmly to incidents and critical situations, using problem-solving skills to assist in resolution.
  • Maintain documentation of incidents and observations according to established protocols.
  • Provide customer service by answering questions, offering directions, and assisting residents and visitors as needed.
  • Collaborate with location staff and Allied Universal team members during emergency response activities.
  • Remain alert to unusual activity or conditions and report concerns to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
