Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrols in Salem, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer and contribute to a secure environment within a government location. In this engaging role, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service. As an armed professional, you will rely on your training and communication skills to address a variety of security-related situations. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergencies when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including situations involving potential threats or emergencies.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including the perimeter, to help to deter unwanted activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor access points to authorized areas and report any unusual observations or activities to management and/or law enforcement as required.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unauthorized activity and foster a sense of security at the location.
  • Document observations, incidents, and/or activities in accordance with Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Assist visitors and employees as needed, providing information and support while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Carry a firearm and maintain all required certifications, adhering to legal and company guidelines for armed personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
