Job Description


As a Security Officer - Academic Campus Patrol in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within an educational location, helping to deter security-related incidents and promote a secure environment for students, faculty, and visitors. Your visible presence, routine patrols, and customer-focused communication will support a welcoming campus atmosphere. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, faculty, staff, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, helping to maintain a secure environment within the educational location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and to observe and report any unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activities.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with individuals on site and Allied Universal management regarding incidents, observations, and daily activities.
  • Support campus policies and procedures by providing guidance to individuals and reporting violations as necessary.
  • Assist in emergency response activities, including evacuations and/or lockdowns, following Allied Universal protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • The ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
