Job Description


As a Security Officer - Education Patrol Specialist Unarmed in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in an education-focused location, you will actively monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment for students, faculty, and visitors. Your consistent presence will help to deter security-related incidents, while your strong communication and customer service skills will support positive interactions within the campus community. You will work as part of a dedicated team, upholding our values of agility, reliability, and integrity, and contribute to a caring culture that puts people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the educational facility and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to support authorized access and help to maintain an orderly environment.
  • Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and/or irregularities according to site protocol.
  • Assist students, staff, and visitors with directions, information, and general assistance as required.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal supervisors and local authorities when necessary in response to incidents or emergencies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
