As a Security Officer- Education Center Patrol - Part Time in Hattiesburg, MS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas at an educational location, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming environment for all. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to provide reassurance to students, staff, and visitors, and respond promptly to security-related situations. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to individuals at the location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus and surrounding areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns. Working conditions may vary based on the specific site and time.
  • Report any security-related incidents, hazards or unusual circumstances to the appropriate contacts in accordance with Allied Universal and site protocols.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted activity and offer assistance to students, staff, and visitors as needed.
  • Complete required documentation and logs accurately, keeping detailed records of activities, observations and/or incidents during assigned shifts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
