Job Description


As a Security Officer – Industrial Patrol Monitor in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at an industrial manufacturing location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment for employees and visitors. Your presence will help to provide peace of mind while you conduct routine patrols, support access control, and deliver outstanding customer service. You will utilize strong communication skills and may use computer or tablet systems as part of your daily responsibilities. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the manufacturing and industrial facility, including the perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other designated areas to help to deter unauthorized access and to report any unusual activity.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Allied Universal team members, site staff, and local authorities as required.
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and promptly.
  • Remain aware of changing conditions in the location and adapt patrol routes and routines as necessary.
  • Assist site personnel and visitors by providing directions and information in a courteous manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
