Job Description


As a Security Officer - Chemical Entry Control Full-Time in HOUSTON, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor entry points and patrol designated areas within a chemical and petrochemical location. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you interact with employees and visitors, providing outstanding customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities in a chemical or petrochemical facility.
  • Monitor access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain authorized access to the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details as required by Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises and perimeter of the location to help to deter suspicious activity and identify potential hazards or risks.
  • Operate access control systems and verify credentials of personnel and visitors entering the facility.
  • Report any unusual activity, hazards, or security-related incidents to the appropriate personnel in accordance with established procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with site staff, visitors, and emergency responders as needed to support security-related operations and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
