Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Healthcare Patrol in Long Beach, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and remaining highly visible throughout the facility. Your presence and exceptional customer service will help create a welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. You will also play a key role in communication and incident response, supporting Allied Universal's values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies within a healthcare environment, responding appropriately to emergencies as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with de-escalation and reporting as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and to observe and report irregularities.
  • Monitor access points and observe visitor and staff behavior to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or suspicious activities.
  • Document all activities, observations, and incidents thoroughly and accurately according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Assist with directing visitors and/or patients and provide information or guidance as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff and emergency responders as needed during incidents or drills.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
