As a Security Officer - Metal Detector Access Control in York, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to create a secure environment at a cultural institution by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents while providing exceptional customer service and clear communication. You will utilize technology such as computers, tablets, and alarm panels to manage access and respond to situations as needed. What You'll Do:

• Monitor and control access to the location, verifying identification and credentials of visitors, staff, and/or contractors according to site-specific policies.
• Deliver customer service by assisting visitors and responding to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
• Carry out security-related procedures as outlined by Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or security-related incidents.
• Document and report any suspicious activity, security-related incidents, or policy violations observed during shifts.
• Communicate and collaborate with Allied Universal team members and site personnel to maintain a secure environment.
• Participate in required training and maintain awareness of site-specific policies and emergency response procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have 1+ years of Security experience or the equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
