As a Security Officer - Flex Patrol Tech/Media in Arlington, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas in a dynamic tech-driven location, helping to deter security-related incidents through your visible presence. Your role includes conducting routine patrols, responding to incidents as they arise, and providing outstanding customer service and communication. You will work collaboratively with others and use your problem-solving skills to support a secure environment, all while upholding our values of agility, reliability, and integrity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and performing emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the overall security-related needs of the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and around its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and to observe for any unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, check credentials, and help to deter unauthorized entry into restricted areas.
  • Document incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal protocols.
  • Communicate with clients, visitors, and employees to address questions, provide information, and offer assistance as needed.
  • Collaborate with other Allied Universal personnel and local authorities as required during incidents or emergencies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
