As a Security Officer - Government Unarmed Patrol PT in Trenton, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible and approachable. Your presence will contribute to creating a welcoming and secure environment, and you will deliver exceptional customer service through clear communication and assistance to staff and visitors. You will be part of an agile and reliable team that values integrity and innovation, working together to provide peace of mind for everyone at the site.


Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $22.16 / Hour Hour Plus an an addional $5.55 / Hour for Federal Health and Welfare

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support the needs of the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the property and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related incidents to the appropriate personnel and/or authorities.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter potential disruptions.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, and/or the public as needed during patrols or incident response.
  • Follow all site-specific protocols and instructions provided by Allied Universal and the location's management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Possess a New Jersey RPO certificate.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
