As a Security Officer - Education Patrol Specialist in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, students, faculty, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, responding to emergencies at the education location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, keeping in mind the unique environment of an educational facility.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and help maintain a secure environment for all occupants.
  • Monitor for any unusual or suspicious activity and report findings according to site protocols.
  • Collaborate with campus staff and local authorities as needed to address incidents and maintain communication regarding security-related matters.
  • Assist in directing individuals during drills and/or emergency situations, providing clear instructions and guidance as needed.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and/or irregularities encountered during patrols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least six months of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
