Job Description


As a Security Professional - Armed Patrol Driver in Bloomington, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will be responsible for performing armed patrols at a commercial real estate location. You will help to deter security-related incidents, maintain a visible presence, and provide outstanding customer service through clear communication and professionalism. This position requires a valid driver's license and an armed guard card/license, as you will be both driving and carrying a firearm as part of your daily duties. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing de-escalation techniques when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the commercial real estate location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and control entry and/or exit of personnel, visitors, and vehicles as required by site policies.
  • Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal standards and client requirements.
  • Maintain a professional presence while carrying out armed patrol duties, following all legal and site-specific protocols.
  • Collaborate with site management and/or local law enforcement when needed to address security-related issues.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
