As a Security Officer - Shelter Front Desk in Minneapolis, MN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and residents at the front desk by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
  • Monitor access to the shelter location, verifying identification and/or visitor credentials as required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the front desk in a calm, problem-solving manner, and alert appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Maintain a visible presence at the front desk to help to deter unauthorized entry or disruptive behavior.
  • Document and report any irregularities, such as property damage, unusual behavior, or suspicious activity observed from the front desk area.
  • Assist residents and visitors with information and directions within the location, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Collaborate with shelter staff and Allied Universal management to uphold site-specific protocols and support emergency response activities when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
