Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Shelter Patrol Driver in Memphis, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol the grounds of a shelter location, helping to deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming environment for all. This role involves regular driving responsibilities, as you conduct patrols and remain visible to support a sense of comfort among those on site. You will also provide outstanding customer service and clear communication, while embracing our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, residents, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations within the shelter environment in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or potential issues.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, including property damage, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Communicate and collaborate with shelter staff and Allied Universal management as needed regarding security-related matters.
  • Maintain detailed records of activities, incidents, and/or observations as required by site protocols.
  • Assist with access control, helping to monitor and manage the movement of individuals within the shelter location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Primarily driving post is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
