As a Security Professional - Unarmed Transportation Patrol in PORT JEFFERSON, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Transportation, and more. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergencies as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the transportation location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the transportation facility and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor entry and exit points and observe activities to help to deter unauthorized access or behavior.
  • Document incidents, observations, and/or irregularities that may occur during patrols or while monitoring the area.
  • Work collaboratively with site personnel and visitors, providing information and assistance as needed while maintaining a security-related presence.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possession of a Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration is required.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience working at limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or a rustic guard shack is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
